“Built on the Water” "The guitar is his universe of sound associations...He lets it shimmer harmoniously, sometimes only in contrast to individual dissonant effects, on the whole more like an interior designer who fills a room with ornaments until the dark corners at the back are also lined…DuBois thinks in terms of textures, colors, moods, diffusely in space, so that imaginations can arise. Ullmann acts concretely, powerfully even in soft tones, clear and powerful from the individual motif to the improvising noise. In the combination, the music, which brings standstill and movement together, becomes fundamental in the auditory impression, as one can imagine water."
